2 Miles, Steep Hills, 25lb Pack

This week starts the two mile route.  Same deal as before.  Rucksack with 25lbs of weights up and down the hills in my neighborhood.  Right now I'm nowhere close to being able to run the entire way.  When I can do that, I'll feel like I've really accomplished something.

1 Mile, Steep Hills, 25lb Pack

I've been conditioning for Annual Training in October by running a mile around the hills of my neighborhood every morning.  This week I started adding a weighted rucksack which, of course brought my time back down to a crawl.  Oh well, gotta start somewhere.

Our Adventure at the USPSA Match

Last Friday, my friends Jake and Marc invited me to meet them after work at Shooters, an indoor firing range.  Marc wanted to practice for the USPSA match he was competing in the next day.

I'm interested competitive shooting, but had never been to a match, so Jake and I decided to tag along and watch the match.

The bottom line is it looks like lots of fun.  When next month's match rolls around, plan on seeing me there.

I'm On the Air - Around the World

On Saturday morning, I passed the exam to upgrade my amateur radio license to General Class.  For those of you not familiar with ham radio, General gives you privileges to use high-frequency or HF radio bands.  If you've ever listened to a shortwave radio broadcast from another country, you'll know that radio waves at these frequencies can travel a long, long way.
